Castle Cupboard in Limed Oak designed and made by Tim Wood

The castle cupboard was originally designed and hand made by Tim Wood himself as a speculative piece for loan to "The Design and Decoration Building" set up by Robin Guild and Fleur Rossdale as a permanent show, by invitation only, to showcase the very best in design and decoration in 1991. Since then the castle cupboard has been displayed at Decorex, 100% Design and Grand Designs London.

It is made of solid English limed oak, with forty-four window openings, some glazed with mitred beading and the others left open. The castle cupboard stands on one block, cut into five pieces of Purbeck stone the same material as used on Corfe Castle. The inside has glass shelves illuminated from above. Tim Wood now uses this castle cupboard as a drinks cupboard.
